Project report: Go-kart project - Environmental, Process & Energy Engineering (MA) JG 19
As part of the end of the semester, the Master’s degree program in Environmental, Process and Energy Engineering 2019 took the opportunity this year to catch up on the social university days missed due to the COVID-19 pandemic on the go-kart track followed by a drink. Ten students plus three additional supporters met on 30.06.2021 at the B1 go-kart track in Innsbruck. Due to the large number of participants, we had the entire race track at our disposal, which added to the fun. The plan was for everyone to ride the track for 20 minutes and try to beat the best lap time. But after the first round you could already see the fun and the grins of the fellow students under their helmets and everyone already knew that the 20 minutes were not enough. That’s why we decided to use the 20 minutes as qualifying and allocate the starting positions according to the best lap time. After qualifying, Metzgo was just 43 hundredths ahead of Pasci with a lap time of 36.104 seconds, closely followed by Guadl. Shortly behind them, Welky, Schulu, Janni, Domi and Fuchsi contested places 4 to 8. Johannes, Fuba, Mani, Michi and Lari brought up the rear. After everyone had taken up their starting position, the countdown started for everyone at the same time. Everyone tried to get to the top in just under 40 minutes and overtake their opponents or avoid being overtaken. Spurred on by ambition and the glory awaiting the winner, there were one or two “unintentional” collisions. In the end, of course, only one person can stand at the top of the podium and Pasci managed to do just that. He came in just 4 seconds ahead of Metzgo and 8 seconds ahead of Guadl and can now enjoy the recognition of us all. In places 4 to 8, only Fuchsi was able to fight her way up one place. Michi fought his way up from 12th place to 9th, closely followed by Mani. Fuba, Johannes and Lari brought up the rear.
Despite a few injuries, bruises and headaches the next day, the evening was great fun.
Project report: Meet-and-Greet – Mechatronics & Smart Technologies (MA) JG 20
After a very time-consuming and intensive 2nd semester in the field of mechatronics, in which the corona pandemic did not make things any easier for us, it was time for our degree program to hold a decent graduation dinner. After the government reopened on 01.07.21, a date was quickly found for the beginning of July when the majority of the students were still in Innsbruck and could also make time for the event. A suitable date was found and was set for 06.07.2021 at 17:15. Twelve of our 15 students have registered for this. The next step was to choose the restaurant, which was not so easy at such short notice. But in the end we got a table outside at Glorious Bastards Innsbruck.
On the so-called final dinner day, we met at Glorious Bastards, but unfortunately some of us could not make it until much later than the agreed time due to long work and traveling to Austria. So we decided that we could eat in two groups so that those present would not starve. Unfortunately, only 10 of the 12 registered students were present as two went on vacation at short notice.
Unfortunately, we were only able to take pictures at the beginning of the event and not everyone present is pictured. However, these pictures show quite clearly how good it was for us all to meet in person and get to know each other. In addition, our long-time office ladies, Janine and Maria, have joined us.
The evening at Glorious Bastards was over around 24:00 when Spain lost to Italy on penalties. The majority of the group then moved on to Bar 6020, which is the main location at MCI. The evening slowly came to an end there.
Project report: Final party - Course of studies MCiT (BA) Year 2019
What a year! That’s probably what we all thought across the board. When we started our BA MCiT studies as first-year students in October 2019, nobody could have guessed that this would not only be our first semester together, but also our last. CoVid hit us studies hard and put an end to our student life. Already a little tired of the online lecture format and thanks to the recent easing of restrictions, we decided to toast each other once again. Especially before many of us start our eagerly awaited semester abroad at one of the selected MCI partner universities next semester. We were thankfully supported financially by öh mci and were thus able to enjoy our reunion on June 9 at the local Bierstindl with hearty Austrian home cooking and chilled drinks to the full.

Project report: Excursion Arzler Alm - Course of studies Mechatronics (BA) Year 2020
Brief description of the project
Due to the Covid-19 situation and the associated distance learning, we have unfortunately not had the opportunity to meet in person since our first study day. In order to escape the “digital world” that has now become part of everyday life and get together, we are planning to get to know our fellow students in a small group. In this context, we would like to hike to the Arzler Alm and toast there with two or three drinks. As the project we have planned would contribute greatly to strengthening the community and bringing the newly formed groups together, we are very much hoping for financial support from öh mci.
Implementation of the project
After our exam on Friday 28.05.2021, we met in a small group at 3.15 pm at the Inn bridge to walk together to the Arzler Alm via the Alpenzoo in the great weather. Other fellow students joined us at the Alpenzoo and accompanied us on the rest of the way up. When we arrived at the Arzler Alm, we got a nice table in the middle of the sun and toasted together with our first drinks. Shortly afterwards, we were joined by other fellow students who later took the bus up to the Hungerburgbahn cable car and then walked the rest of the way up from there. After a few more pleasant conversations, a drink or two and some refreshments, we were the last to leave the Arzler Alm shortly before dusk.
